Mandatory autism & learning disability training

Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is a legal requirement for all health and social care staff in England. Named in memory of Oliver McGowan, it equips your workforce to provide safe, appropriate care for people with a learning disability and autistic people.

Tier 1 — Online awareness for all staff who may encounter people with a learning disability or autism
Tier 2 — Face-to-face with an Expert by Experience co-trainer for hands-on care staff
CQC requirement: All registered Health & Social Care providers must ensure staff complete the appropriate tier.

The Learning & Development Support Scheme (LDSS) is a government-funded training route specifically for Health & Social Care employers. It provides up to £400,000 per employer to fund short courses, specialist qualifications and blended learning programmes — at no cost to your organisation.

Yes. Overseas workers employed by eligible Health & Social Care organisations are eligible for LDSS-funded training, provided the employer meets the scheme criteria.

Our employer consultancy is completely free and no-obligation. We assess your workforce development needs, recommend the most suitable training routes, and help you access available funding — all at no cost to your business.

Levy gifting allows large employers who pay the apprenticeship levy to transfer unused funds to smaller businesses. This means your organisation could access higher-level apprenticeships at reduced or zero cost. We have an established network of levy-paying employers and can facilitate this for you.
